Community Safety Update

Posted Date: 09/14/26 (02:54 PM)

Dear parents and guardians,

We are aware of questions and concerns regarding the recent incident at Central Union High School and want to provide reassurance to our families and community.

The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. Threats involving our schools are taken seriously, and our district has established safety, investigative, and student discipline protocols to ensure these matters are addressed thoroughly and appropriately.

While law enforcement and the legal system follow their own processes and determine appropriate criminal charges, those processes are separate from the actions and protocols of the school district. The outcome of a criminal case does not determine how the district responds to a situation or the actions it may take to protect our school community.

Due to student privacy laws, we cannot discuss individual student disciplinary or placement matters. However, we want our community to know that we take these situations seriously, conduct thorough investigations, and take appropriate action based on the information available to us and our established protocols.

We appreciate the trust of our families and community as we continue to prioritize the safety, security, and well-being of our students and staff.

Sincerely,
Dr. David Farkas
Superintendent
Central Union High School District
